Social Engineering —

Anyone who a scam has taken in has fallen victim to a form of social engineering. Cybercrime is also referred to as ‘human hacking’ and is a manipulation technique exploits human error to access closed IT systems and sensitive data or deploy ransomware to extort cash.

Social Engineering can occur online, through crank calls, or even in person. A phishing scam is a classic online example, while over the phone, it may be a phony IT representative. But whichever form it comes, it remains the greatest vulnerability to almost any cyber security system worldwide. After all, human error can’t be patched up like a firewall.
