Tor —

Standing for "The Onion Router," TOR is a protocol used for anonymous network communication. It works by rerouting a user's connection through different encrypted servers, constantly bouncing between IP addresses to ensure complete anonymity. Unlike regular connections, which establish a direct link between a user and a server, TORs are designed to make it virtually impossible to trace the user's IP address or other identifying information.

Due to its anonymity and privacy, TOR is often used to access the Dark Web, which comprises a hidden network of websites that cannot be accessed through regular search engines. With the Dark Web hosting several illegal activities, many users want to cloak their presence in the domain.
