Investigating politically motivated actors often begins with very little information: a name, a photograph, or a handful of fragmented public records. Determining where an individual is located, who they are connected to, and whether they are receiving support from external communities requires investigators to combine public-source intelligence, leaked data, multilingual analysis, and social network correlation. The challenge is that these signals are typically dispersed across multiple platforms, hidden within large volumes of data, and difficult to validate in isolation.
This case study follows an investigation into a politically active individual believed to have left their home country following a period of civil unrest. Starting with only a limited set of public identifiers, investigators used SL Crimewall to identify and validate social media profiles, enrich the investigation through leaked datasets, analyze multilingual content, and map relationships across thousands of social connections. By progressively narrowing the network and correlating multiple sources, they developed a structured assessment of the subject's identity, probable location, close associates, and broader support environment.
