From Hospitals to Marketplaces:
EXPOSING A DIVERSION NETWORK
WITH SL CRIMEWALL

The diversion of publicly funded medical supplies increasingly plays out online, where informal marketplaces make regulated goods easy to sell and hard to trace. In Mexico, medicines and equipment marked “For Exclusive Use of the Health Sector”—items legally restricted to public hospitals—are openly traded through Facebook Marketplace and private sales groups, fueling shortages across the public healthcare system.

This case study, conducted by OSINT practitioner Purpl3 Cult, shows how Social Links products were used to expose a medical supply diversion network by correlating social media activity, marketplace listings, and recurring contact details. Using SL Crimewall, the investigation mapped seller behavior, group activity, and distribution patterns to reveal how diverted supplies move from public institutions into informal markets.
