White Hat —
White hats are cybersecurity professionals who use their expertise to identify and fix security vulnerabilities in computer systems and networks. They are mainly employed by corporate security departments, and some work at cybersecurity consulting agencies. White hats' work is normally above board and conducted with the consent of their clients.
Such specialists only do so-called ‘ethical hacking’ – their work mainly consists of penetration testing and vulnerabilities detection and assist in improving security protocols to prevent future attacks. Gained results are usually reported to the company or organization, making white hats' work vital in ensuring organizations' security in the modern cyber landscape.
